About Pastor Scott Landrum

Pastor Scott Landrum, a native of Mobile, Alabama, joined the United States Marine Corps after graduating from high school, and following active duty joined the Marine Corps Reserve. He graduated from the University of Mobile with a Bachelor of Science in Religion and was ordained a Southern Baptist minister in 1992, serving as pastor and interim pastor of churches in Alabama and Louisiana.

After a period of theological reflection and discernment during which he earned Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, he moved into the Lutheran faith tradition. He entered the ELCA ministry candidacy process and was “re-ordained” a Lutheran minister.

He served as Associate Pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Kenner from 1999 to 2003 before being called as the Senior Pastor of Love Lutheran Church in New Orleans.

In addition to pastoral ministry, he is a retired Reserve Navy Chaplain having in addition to the Navy served with various Sea Service units including the United States Marine Corps and the United States Coast Guard.

He is married to Susan, a native of Miami, Florida. She has earned a Certificate in Technical Signing from Delgado Community College, an Associate of Arts Degree from River Parishes Community College, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies.

They have five children and one grandchild. They enjoy fishing, boating, travel and spending time with family and friends.
